Databases

MMRC is hosting different services internally or externally in Germany, depending on the needs of projects.
We have experience in hosting SQL servers and web-servers for web-based data entry systems, as well as OpenClinica servers.

Internet connectivity

We're connected through 3 ADSL lines to the local telecommunications company TTCL.
Trafficshaping, load-balancing and fall-back connections allow us to provide our services not only internally but also for external access through our static IP's.
At the moment we're in contact with different providers to enable us a TTCL independent internet connection through 3+4G services and VSAT

Backup System

MMRC uses an self-written backup software, which backs up all servers and important mobile computers on a daily basis twice.
All backups are stored for 30 days before the oldest will be replaced with the newest backup.
This enables us to provide a consistent file history over 30 days in case of any corruption or accidental deletion.

Servers

All physical hosted servers at MMRC are equipped with RAID1 systems and if possible doubled power supplies to prevent service interruption in case of a hardware fault.
Furthermore our virtual servers are all hosted on a RAID10 iSCSI High Availability network storage with two physical independent hosts.

Power supply

All computers and servers are supported by UPS's and Voltage Stabilisers to overcome, in case of a power interruption, the short while till the backup generators start.

VoIP System

To enable our staff to participate in conference calls or get in contact with donors and collaborators, MMRC is using two different VoIP providers for international calls.
We're reachable through IP-direct or a German local telephone number to enable cost effective contact to Europe and America.
